Merry Christmas from rē•spin

This year may not look or feel like the beloved holidays of the past, but as we sit and think about the past year, we can’t help but feel proud that we made it to this moment.

The holidays, while entwined with excitement, feels like a period of reflection. It gives us a moment to think about others and what they mean to us while also expressing gratitude for the loved ones in our life. There’s a certain innocence about this time of year that brings us back to the days of insomnia on Christmas Eve triggered by excitement, counting down the hours until it was time to unwrap the gifts underneath the tree. The holiday fanfare may feel diminished by this year’s events, but we are looking forward to celebrating–in person and spirit–with the loved ones in our lives.

The holiday may not live up to expectations we had planned in our heads from the previous year, but the celebration is all about what you make of it. There’s still plenty of room in our lives for the Christmas classics, basking in the glittery decor, rounds of holiday baking, and the joy of unwrapping a gift, tree or not.

Take your time today to focus on connecting to those around you as well as yourself. Feed your body and spirit with your favorite meals and holiday joy, and remember to give to others as well as yourself.

We hope that no matter how you’re celebrating this year that you know you are loved. Things will be different next year, but it’s important to live in the present and be gracious for the time we’ve been given. We hope you can enjoy the holiday for what it is and find joy in the small moments.

xoxo,

the rē•spin staff
