Peter Lee Thomas

Peter holds a Full Instructor ranking in Muay Thai "Thai Boxing" under Master Ajarn Surachai Sirisute, founder of the Thai Boxing Association U.S.A. He holds a Silver Glove in Boxe Francaise Savate under Professor Nicolas Saignac and won the 2006 National Kickboxing Championships, as well as fought for Team U.S.A. in Paris, France. Peter has had the privilege to study with the world famous Ramon Dekkers and Rob Kaman and incorporates Dutch Kickboxing into his training. Peter is also a student of Guro Dan Inosanto (Bruce Lee's closest friend and disciple) and holds ranking in Jun Fan Gung Fu- Jeet Kune Do Concepts. In addition, he holds credentials in Filipino Kali, Silat and Krav Maga. Currently, he is mentoring under the official Cus D'Amato Boxing Trainer Billy White (current head trainer to Mike Tyson).

When did you decide that you wanted to be a PT?
In Martial Arts, we were taught at a young age to teach one another and teach the younger classmates. I always felt that by teaching you learn something twice. I love to see someone retain something, especially an empowering life skill set like Martial Arts. Personal training was a natural progression that coincided within my Martial Arts practice. I decided to professionally train others when I was simultaneously competing as a fighter. It was my way of giving back and perpetuating the teachings of all of my teachers, trainers and coaches. I wholeheartedly believe that our service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Planet Earth. Each one, teach one.
First thing you do when you wake up?
Kiss my daughter and say thank you. Thank you for the greatest gift, for another day. In gratitude for yet another breath.
What did you do before you became a trainer?
I was in the Fire Academy studying Fire Technology.
If you had to pick a career outside of fitness, what would it be?
An archeologist or paleontologist (yeah, like Indiana Jones).
Is there anything in the fitness industry you’d like to change, and why?

What is your training philosophy?
Take your time, have perseverance, do it right. Fast isn't fast. Smooth is fast. Make it look beautiful. Pass it on
What’s your sweet spot for training, (ie. Strength, HITT, yoga, etc.)

Where do you draw inspiration for your workouts?
Music usually helps awaken that sensation to design and curate different programs / complexes. I'd also say that reading Bruce Lee's notes in : The Art Of Expressing The Human Body is a daily dose of inspiration.
What’s your preferred way of training?
Martial Arts, Boxing, Gymnastics & Parkour.
If you could do a workout collaboration with one person, who would it be, and why?
Iron Mike Tyson. Not only is he "The Baddest Man On The Planet", but he shatters the boundaries and limitations cast upon an athlete's longevity in a sport. He still has it and never lost it. He's back!
What advice would you give someone just discovering fitness?
Don't beat yourself up. Small victories add up, take your time, do it right, find something that you resonate with.
What is the best fitness advice you’ve ever received?
Get it, before it gets you". Don't procrastinate and do the best you can with what you got right now!
If you had a full day off, what would you do with it?
Spend time with my daughter.

How do you feel you’ve rē•spun your life?
I come from a rough upbringing surrounded by drugs and abuse and have accomplished the unimaginable. Martial Arts saved me.
What are you hoping people will get out of your rē•spin workouts?
Resourcefulness. All you need is right there in front of you.
What are 3 things you can’t live without?
My health, family, faith.
Last thing you purchased online?
What does your pre/post-workout meal consist of?
Green Drink and a handful of pre-digested aminos. After, I have an omelette with avocado and yoghurt with wild blueberries.
A protein bar or shake?
Shake (Plant Based Organic MVP Protein Shake by Purium).
Describe yourself in 3 adjectives?
Determined. Adventurous. Adaptable.
What would you like to be remembered for and why?
I want to be remembered for being a kind, compassionate person by helping others. It's the only valuable currency we have.
What has 2020 taught you?
Think outside the conventional. Be resilient and resourceful. Have an attitude of gratitude.
