Meet Karis Gant
A lot of times, I go into the gym as if it is my playground and just get creative and have fun.
When did you decide that you wanted to be a PT?
I started inspiring friends and family to change their lifestyle based on the changes I was making in my life and realized just how passionate I am about helping people and decided to take it on as full time career in 2014.
First thing you do when you wake up?
The first thing I do when I wake up is drink a cup of room temperature water. Then a 10 min yoga inspired Stretch.
What did you do before you became a trainer?
Before I decided to become a trainer full time, I worked at a Television Studio in Business and Legal Affairs.
If you had to pick a career outside of fitness, what would it be?
I’m such an advocate for mental health I think I would be a therapist.
Is there anything in the fitness industry you’d like to change, and why?
If I could change something in the fitness industry, it would be the unrealistic standard of beauty or the “perfect body” I would love for us to celebrate our God given bodies more fiercely with the understanding that we are capable of enhancing our bodies naturally.
What is your training philosophy?
Train the body, Master the mind
What’s your sweet spot for training, (ie. Strength, HITT, yoga, etc.)
Strength and Conditioning is my specialty.
Where do you draw inspiration for your workouts?
A lot of times, I go into the gym as if it is my playground and just get creative and have fun.
What’s your preferred way of training?
One on one is my preferred way of training.
If you could do a workout collaboration with one person, who would it be, and why?
Angela Manuel Davis is one of my biggest inspirations. I love how she uses her gift to speak life while training.
What advice would you give someone just discovering fitness?
Stay connected to the things that are fun and get the guidance needed to reach your goals at the same time.
What is the best fitness advice you’ve ever received?
Embrace the journey
If you had a full day off, what would you do with it?
The perfect day would always include the beach or some way to connect with nature, good food and great company.

I listen to Jhené Aiko’s whole album on repeat
How do you feel you’ve rē•spun your life?
Embracing the changes the pandemic has brought has been the main way I’ve re•spun my life.

Shoes 😩 I may have a slight addiction :)
What does your pre/post-workout meal consist of?
Pre workout meal is usually oatmeal
A protein bar or shake?
I drink Herbalife shakes. They taste good and give my body what it needs.

Stay true to what makes me happy and stay creative.
